We live in a time of our lives where work is about helping others while forgetting about yourself. Unless if you're aware of this and have done as much as you can to still work your full time job, eat healthy, sleep 8 hours, meal prep, get in your 150 minutes of moderate aerobics per week, & at least three strength training workouts in the week--and more, you're probably realizing your work is taking a toll on your body.
The hours you spend completing your routine work tasks. You might be sitting for up to 8 hours a day and yet feel exhausted after work and get yourself motivated enough to move. Which could lead to eating unwanted calories while staring at the tv.
Self Care in a world of focusing on others, It can definitely be challenging to balance your own needs with the demands of helping others, especially in a field where you’re constantly focused on others. It’s important to remember that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s essential for you to be effective in helping others.
Here are a few strategies/reminders to help manage this balance:
1. **Set Boundaries**: Establish clear boundaries between work and personal time. Schedule regular breaks and make time for activities that recharge you, whether that’s exercise, hobbies, or relaxation.
2. **Prioritize Self-Care**: Incorporate self-care into your routine as a non-negotiable. This could be as simple as daily mindfulness practices, regular workouts, or ensuring you get enough rest.
3. **Delegate Tasks**: Where possible, delegate tasks or seek support to reduce your workload. This can help you manage your responsibilities while still prioritizing your own well-being.
4. **Reflect on Your Motivation**: Remind yourself why you started in the fitness and nutrition field. Your passion for helping others can be a strong motivator to maintain your own health as well.
5. **Seek Support**: Consider talking to a mentor or counselor who understands the demands of your profession. They can provide valuable perspective and strategies for balancing personal and professional demands.
6. **Practice Mindfulness**: Regular mindfulness practices can help you stay grounded and manage stress. Even a few minutes a day can make a significant difference.
Balancing self-care with helping others is a continuous process. By taking care of your own health, you’re not only benefiting yourself but also ensuring you have the energy and focus to support others effectively.
I've really enjoyed holding the Strength training class every week because of the community it's building and the strength that I see in all of you that attend.
The transformation program I created is intended for those further away to go about their busy lives and still get remarkable results. I will keep my clients name anonymous but I must toot her horn, she is new to the program, she is in her 2nd week now and she lost 7lbs just from following the meal plan. That's amazing. She feels satisfied, this is not a crazy detox/starvation diet, just a slight deficit and she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw 7lbs down on the scale. SO proud.
That is what my transformation program brings to your table, that is what's possible for you. You can work full time, work a sedentary job, be a wife/mom/friend etc and still have time to food prep to set yourself up for weekly success. It really takes about an hour or so a couple days a week to keep yourself prepped and you are set for success. Put yourself first before the year ends and let's get you to your physique goals!
Sincerely, Madeline Hatch
